Yes, I am late again.

Fighting Burnout

Over the past few months, I have increased my hours at work 6 times. Added a second job, was essentially laid off from that second job, and regained that second job.

I had a couple big surprise expenses, the last one really knocked us for a loop, making me think we might not make it since it happened right as I lost my second job. But with some luck, and credit cards, we made it through.

Dealing with Stress

Through all of this it has been stressful, as I assume you can imagine. But I put together a plan to deal with our finances, and I am finally seeing the start of that plan working.

The problem is with everything happening I just haven’t been able to adjust. Every time I seem to start to get a handle on things, either we have a surprise expense, I lose my second job, or my first increases my hours. The last one has been a benefit, seeming to happen right when the surprise expenses happen, or I notice that things are tighter than expected.

How does this affect the Visual Novel?

The problem is that my attitude with the visual novel isn’t where it should be.

Normally when I would get to work on the VN, my thoughts were, “I finally get to work on my visual novel.” But now it’s been feeling more like my third job, and that is not the feelings I want associated with it.

Don’t worry, I do have a plan to deal with everything. As I said our finances are finally reaching that hump we need to get over.

Getting back to work at my second job, while adding work at my first is throwing me off, but I will adjust.

I have not stopped working on the VN, just have slowed down. I have shifted more towards writing, and less towards rendering images.

This will Clear Up

The stress and worry about making ends meet are already getting better. Eventually my work schedule will seem normal.

But until then, I will be taking it easy. And as sorry as I am that it is delaying this VN, I just need that time to get my head on straight. I hope everyone understands.

But I want to make it clear I am not stopping, just slowing down.
