This was a fun week. There were a few things that made me think it would be a good week. I figured a group of images in this section would go faster than the previous ones, and I was right.

This week I also started on the final section of the Visual Novel, for this release that is.

Art – About 92.4% done – up from 83%

After I had written the script for the most resent part of this visual novel (VN), I decided to try to estimate the number of images I still had to create. I wasn’t going to spend the time counting, so I came up with the idea of just seeing how far into the code I had placed the references to the images.

The problem is I didn’t put any spaces to put the images into the code. It’s easy to add those spaces, but for that many it would have taken me a couple hours.

I figured that was time I preferred to use developing my VN, but that had a drawback. Every time I added an image, it was also adding to the length I was using to estimate how far into it I was.

Essentially it was getting further off as I approached the middle, and once past the middle it was becoming more accurate.

Well, this week I started on the final section. It now would only take about 15 minutes to add in all those spaces. But that had two effects. While it made the estimate more accurate, it dropped me from 83% done to less than 74% done.

The second effect was that adding each image was no longer pushing out the total number of images.

I also knew that a bunch of images were going to be easier this week, and I was correct. I was able to produce 72% of the images for this final section of the VN in the past week.

I’m pausing to post this, but I will still be working on this today.

Part of the reason I am posting this now instead of later is due to me producing images out of order, so that will throw off my numbers. I do this all the time, but usually by the time I post not many are out of order. I only count (read line number that is,) up to the first place I need an image for the estimate.

I expect to be done with the images this coming week. And I may spend part of this week, and the next cleaning up.

So, I am expecting this to be done within 2 weeks. But I am shooting for one. (Remember, supporters get first access.)
